In prima ponitur dura comminatio, ibi: In peccato vestro moriemini etc.
In secunda stricta Christi examinatio, ibi: multa habeo vobis loqui etc.
In tercia determinata Christi passio, ibi: Si exaltatus fuero etc.

Translation: |
For what concerns the literal exposition and continuation of the Gospel, it should be noted that the holy mother Church, who has a restless care for her sons during this sacred time, sometimes implores in order to call them forth, sometimes promises gifts in order to draw them towards her, sometimes threatens them with punishments in order to provoke fear, all to draw them away from evil and stimulate an increase in virtue. And for that reason, just as she promised gifts yesterday in order to draw people towards her, here today she threatens with bad things in order to provoke fear. And according to this, there are three parts of the Gospel.
In the first the strong threat is presented, where it says: In your sin you will die etc.
In the second the strict examination of Christ, where it says: I have many things to say to you etc.
In the third the determined passion of Christ, where it says: When I will be lifted up etc.
