Translation: |
Therefore, in this sermon we will discuss of the listeners of the divine word, since in the previous one we discussed of the truth of the divine word and holy Scripture as well as of the Gospel dignity. The divine word has to be listened devoutly, kept in the memory, acted in life. For this reason, we will clarify two salvific aspects concerning the listeners of the divine word, namely:
First, to persuade the human listeners (?) of the divine word.
Second, the bearing fruits of the divine word that is listened.

Introduction It opens again with an exhortation to the preachers: “Verba he pii redemptoris nostri devota mente palpitemus ut ex his incalescamus. Dicit namquam: Euntes, per fervens salutis desiderium. O vos divini verbi predicatores, in mundum universum fidem veram disseminantes, ac animas lucrantes, predicate verbo vocis et exemplo bone operationis omni creature, id est homini” (f. c2v) - tbc |
Summary in the tabula: "Feria tertia Septuagesimae de auditoribus verbi divini, quos inducit ad audiendum sermonem sacra scriptura, que testatur, quod ibi audientes illuminabuntur in intellectu, inflammabuntur in affectu, disponuntur ad salutem divino nutu. Audire negligentes terrentur eterno interitu, quia per verbum Dei dirigitur fides Christi. Ideo ipsum assimilatur semini utili, vite vitali et malleo conterenti; qui incipit: Euntes in mundum universum. Sermo tertius suavissimus”.
