Translation: |
On the infinite mercy of God, through which the pious Father sweetly invites the soul to penance, even all wicked sinners, graciously promising them indulgence and forgiveness. On the words of divine mercy that call upon the soul, we propose to contemplate three mysteries:
The first is said of revelation: on the praise and commendation of God's mercy, which is demonstrated to sinners in the Scriptures, by figures and examples.
The second is said of extension: on the extent and magnificence of God's mercy, which will forgive all serious, repeated and ancient sins to sinners who repent.
The third is said of speed, as God forgives sins to penitents through his mercy without delay; and on the justification of the impious and the circumstances that make it possible.
