Translation: |
On the deferment of penance and why many delay and procrastinate conversion to penance when they hear the benevolent God calling them so mercifully.
On the postponement and deferment of penance, three mysteries must be stated:
The first is that of cause, since many procrastinate repentance seduced by the Devil, or out of fear or shame or hope or despair.
The second is that of foolishness, the foolishness of those who procrastinate penance because of impediments, which may favour procrastination, and, by doing this, they expose themselves to serious danger.
The third is that of iniquity, as unjust are those who delay penance and conversion to the Lord and act against God and the angels, as well as against themselves and all creatures.
