Translation: |
On the fruitful and useful word of God, by which all nations believed in Christ our Saviour.
So that all may understand how great is the virtue of the divine word, in this sermon we shall conveniently deal with this, namely, how the Saviour of all, in the words recorded in the thema , said that the word of God is the seed of spirituality, charisma and rewardings. Three mysteries need to be stated about these words:
The first concerns the dignity of the word of God preached, for five are the egregious and excellent dignities of the word of God and the officium of preaching.
The second concerns the quality of those who preach the word, for five are the necessary conditions that must be possessed by anyone who wishes to preach God's word fruitfully.
The third concerns the usefulness of the listening: on the five fruits and the five advantages of God's word; and why it is useful for all to hear it willingly.
