Translation: |
On the hideous sin of homicide, which is usually followed by despair and unrepentance.
Therefore, in order to avoid such a danger, in the present sermon we shall speak of homicide, since the clarification of this matter can suitably benefit penitents. On murder, therefore, we shall propose to clarify three main mysteries:
The first concerns the definition: what homicide is and about those who kill themselves and about the killing of brutes and how and when homicide can be committed without sin.
The second concerns structure, since not only with the hand, but also in many other condemnable ways homicide can be committed.
The third concerns punishment, since all laws, both divine and human, harshly and severely condemn and punish homicide.
