On the examples showed us by Christ, which we should follow, especially during the time of the Holy Eucharistic Communion.
Therefore, for the moral exposition of the Gospel, in this sermon we shall deal with the moral examples spiritually included in the Gospel and offered to us by the Lord Jesus Christ, since He calls us to them in the thema. In order to encompass the whole of today's Gospel, we shall clarify seven devout examples:
The first relates to the remembrance of mortality: how Christ taught us by his example to be mindful of his most bitter death, which he endured out of charity and patient love for us sinners.
The second concerns the practice of charity: how Christ taught us by his example to remember his immense charity, with which he loved us.
The third is about enduring adversity: how Christ taught us by his example to endure adversity with a cheerful heart and to be patient in our tribulations.
The fourth concerns despising prosperity: how Christ taught us by his example to despise the riches of this world and not to trust in them.
The fifth concerns the observance of chastity: how Christ taught us by his example to observe and guard the virtue of chastity, which is dear to him.
The sixth concerns the practice of humility: how Christ taught us by his example not to refuse the trials of humility.
The seventh concerns the desire for happiness: how Christ taught us by his example to wish for heavenly happiness.
