- primo, illi quos Deus diligit, ut benigni et humiles;
- secundo, illi quos opera virtutis ad hetera traxit, ut sunt illi qui exercentur in operibus caritatis et misericordie;

Translation: |
The devil easily leads us into mortal sins, especially into three: gluttony, pride, and greed. [...] The conditions for which one does not go to hell («this is the task, this is the toil») are three:
- first, those whom God loves, such as the kind and humble;
- second, those whose virtuous deeds lead them to higher things, such as those who engage in works of charity and mercy;
- third, those who are born of gods, i.e. the religious, who, free from worldly spirits and their own will and freedom, dedicate and serve solely to God in the contemplative life.
