Translation: |
In this Gospel, based on the matter touched upon, we shall bring home a fruit, and this fruit will be us to see which are the vices that do not allow us to receive the divine grace. From the Gospel and what the Evangelist says, I understand that they are three: the first is the concupiscence of the eyes in the way of vanity, and this is fund when the Gospel says: the woman came out of those regions. Second is the pride of the souls in the way of perversity, since she cried out to Christ. Third is the concupiscence of beasts in the way of sensuality, since [Jesus replied]: It is not good etc. By means of these three vices the devil controls our soul.
