In summa epistole tria innuuntur:
1) Primo salutaris ieiunii prinicipium, ibi “Clama ne cesses”;
2) Secundo subditur ieiunii laudabilis finale stipendium, ibi “Tunc erumpet”;
3) Tercio finalis stipendii fontale initium, ibi “Quia misericors”.

Translation: |
The epistle, as a whole, shows three things:
1) Firstly, the beginning of the saving fast (“Clama ne cesses”);
2) Secondly, the final reward of praiseworthy fasting is then exposed (“Tunc erumpet”);
3) Thirdly, the source of final reward (“Quia misericors”).
