In summa evangelii tria innuuntur:
1) Primo quomodo Christus audacter bellum est ingressus;
2) Secundo quomodo callidus hostis eum est aggressus, ibi “Et accedens etc.”;
3) Tertio quomodo fortiter idem hostis est oppressus, ibi “Vade Sathanas”.

The gospel, as a whole, shows three things:
1) Firstly, how Christ boldly undertook the battle;
2) Secondly, how the cunning enemy approached him (“Et accedens etc.”);
3) Thirdly, how the same enemy was valiantly defeated (“Vade Sathanas”)."
