Unde in presenti sermone de superstitione (gratia salvatoris auxiliante) duo declaremus salutis documenta, scilicet:
Primum, superstitionis varietatem.
Secundum, punitionis illius acerbitatem.

Hence, in this sermon (with the help of the saviour's grace) we will discuss two salvific lessons, namely:
First the molteplicity of superstitions.
Second, the harshness of their punishment.

Definition of the constitutive elements of maleficium, namely: bad intention (malitia); lack of faith (infidelitas, since the devil cannot act where there is faith); devil's versura, i.e. its chasing people.
Connection of maleficia with superstitio and its definition.

13 types of superstitions: divination; aeromantia (clouds); geomantia; necromancy; phitomantia ; carminantia (spell; charm); matemantia (stars; constellations); somnimantia (dreams); chiromancy; pyromantia (melting lead or wax); hydromantia (water); scriptimantia (written charm); sortimantia (divination using sortes).
