Inter ceteros morbos lepra est abominabilior, inter omnes sordidior. Est enim morbus fetidus, sitibundus et contagiosus. In quantum est morbus fetidus significat luxuriam; in quantum est morbus sitibundus significat peccatum avaricie; in quantum est morbus contagiosus significat peccatum superbie.

Translation: |
Among other diseases, leprosy is the most abominable and the most miserable. It’s in fact a fetid, thirsty and contagious disease. As a fetid disease, it indicates lust; as a thirsty disease, it indicates the sin of greed; as a contagious disease, it indicates the sin of pride.
